“May Day”, This two-word term is quite complex in its meaning. “May Day” was originally a term used in old Europe to celebrate the “Festival of Spring ” on May 1st.

In 1923 the term “May Day” became the International Distress Call. It was used as it sounded like “m’aider” which is French for “Help me!”

As we reach “May Day” 2020 Never have the two usages been more appropriate!

1.) “Festival of Spring!” – Weather is starting to improve, and blossoms are starting to bloom. The plastic pipe business continues to moving along.  Underground contractors are putting lots of conduit in the ground.  Business-wise we indeed should be celebrating the “Festival of Spring.”

2.) “International Distress call!” – As we finish what can only be described as the longest April in history. We all want to scream “May Day!!” The Covid-19 pandemic has taken its toll on all of us! No matter what your thoughts are on it I know everyone just wants it to be over!

Creek Plastics is still here at our station, making pipe! We continue to weather this once in a lifetime storm.  If you need to go out on the front porch and yell, “MAY DAY” please feel free. We will understand!
