When I was in high school, sales was never a job I would have considered. I was shy and hated being in big crowds. I was never that person who would walk up to someone and just create conversation. People honestly scared me, but then college came. My first year was a hard year, I mean living with complete strangers was not something I was looking forward too. It was a struggle to get out of my comfort zone. I was on the softball team at school, so I was handed nineteen new friends from the start. Then, my sophomore year came around and everything just clicked. I was starting to become more outgoing and approachable. Honestly, it was a great feeling and making friends became easier.

Around that time, I knew I wanted to get into sales. People told me I would be great at it, I now enjoyed meeting new people and creating random conversation. I told myself I would sell something I enjoyed, at that time I thought it was softball equipment. I did that for about six months while going to school. I enjoyed it, but I wasn’t overly thrilled about it.

A year later I was approach by Creek Plastics to become a sales person for them. At the time I thought, plastic pipe is plastic pipe… right? I never knew it had so many different descriptions. My first week working at Creek Plastics I was learning what HDPE and SDR stood for. To others that might be simple, but for someone who had never been in the plastic industry it wasn’t. Now, my third month into this, I now feel comfortable enough to go out on my own. From personal experience, websites don’t tell you everything. Help me help you! I have provided you with Q’s and A’s now it’s your turn to provide questions…

A: High Density Polyethylene.

Q: What does SDR stand for?

A: 12 reels.
